Black Book"
A
soundtrack to an imagined film based on the novel of the same
name by Turkish author Orhan Pamuk. The setting is Istanbul. The
plot involves the disappearance of the narrator's wife and her
brother. But underlying this is a universe of symbolism.
A meditiation on the nature of identity, personal and national.
The city is presented in its labyrinthine complextity. Strange
characters, false leads and breathless mystery abound.
The music contains the East/West atmosphere and the elusive underpinnings
of the action.
